Connect Google Analytics 4

Connect Google Analytics 4, usually called GA4, to see AI-related website visits, engagement, conversion actions, and entry pages inside Searcherries.

This connection powers AI traffic. You can use it independently of Google Search Console.

Before you start

Your website should already be sending data to a GA4 property. You need a Google account with access to that property.

Searcherries reads existing analytics data. Connecting it does not install a tracking tag on your website or configure conversion events for you.

Connect a property

  1. Open the project and choose AI traffic.
  2. Select Connect Google Analytics.
  3. Choose the Google account with access to the relevant property and approve the authorization request.
  4. On Available GA4 properties, select the property that tracks the project website.
  5. Select Connect selected property.

If the connection is already authorized but unfinished, use Select GA4 property to complete it.

Check both the property name and property ID. A property that collects data from several websites can have a broader scope than a single project domain; choose the property deliberately rather than relying on a similar name.

Check the results

Return to AI traffic, select a reporting period, and review the source rows and trend. Expand a source to see entry pages.

A successful connection does not guarantee that the period contains AI-related visits. No AI traffic found yet can be a valid result.

Conversion actions depend on the property's event configuration. If you expect leads or purchases to appear, verify that those actions are collected and configured in GA4.

Change or disconnect the property

Use Change property to select another accessible GA4 property. Use Disconnect to remove this project's Analytics connection.

This does not remove the GA4 property or the tracking code from your website. It does not disconnect Google Search Console or Bing.

Common setup problems

No properties are listed: verify access in Google Analytics and reconnect with the correct Google account.

Unexpected numbers: confirm the property ID, date range, source attribution, and metric definitions. Sessions and unique users are different measurements.

A refresh warning appears: Searcherries may retain the last successful data while retrying. Follow the displayed connection actions and troubleshooting guide.

Read AI traffic for the exact meaning of the report's labels and attribution limits.
