AI visibility metrics explained
AI visibility metrics describe the answers Searcherries collected for your project. Their meaning depends on the selected period, questions, and platforms.
AI Visibility score
AI Visibility is a relative score displayed as a percentage. It considers:
| Signal | What it describes |
|---|---|
| Mentions | How often your brand appears in collected answers. |
| Platform coverage | Presence across the selected AI platforms. |
| Average rank | Your brand's position in answers where rank data is available. |
A score of 70% does not mean your brand appears in 70% of all AI answers or reaches 70% of AI users.
The available metrics can differ when filtering to one customer question. Missing rank data should not be interpreted as poor performance.
Because this is a relative score, a competitor's improvement can affect your comparison even when your own mention count is unchanged.
Brand mentions
A mention records a brand appearing in a collected answer. It is not a website visit, customer, search volume estimate, or the count of every repeated occurrence of a brand name within one answer.
More checked questions or a longer period can create more opportunities for mentions. Compare equal periods and a stable question set before attributing a change to your content work.
Average rank
Average rank describes where the brand appeared in the relevant AI responses. Lower is better: rank 2 is ahead of rank 5.
This is different from a Google Search Console position, which concerns Google search results. A dash means usable rank data is unavailable; it does not mean first place or zero.
Share of voice
Share of voice compares a brand's recorded mentions with the total mentions across brands in the selected report scope. If your brand has 20 mentions out of 100 brand mentions, its share is 20%.
One answer can mention several brands. Share of voice therefore measures relative presence within the collected comparison, not the percentage of unique users reached.
Competitors and cited URLs
The Overview Tracked competitors card includes your own brand. Other summaries, including Wizard's competitor summary, can list external competitors separately.
Cited URLs includes source pages from your website, other brands, publishers, directories, and other sites. It is not a backlink count or a count of citations to your website alone. A URL can be represented under more than one platform, so cross-platform totals should not automatically be read as globally unique URLs.
Use metrics together
A useful review combines visibility, competitor insights, source URLs, and AI traffic. High visibility with few visits can be a valid result: users may read an answer without clicking, and not every click is attributable in analytics.
