AI traffic

AI traffic shows visits to your website identified in Google Analytics 4 as coming from AI-related sources. It answers a different question from AI Visibility: visibility measures collected AI answers, while traffic measures recorded website sessions.

Open your project and select AI traffic. Connect Google Analytics if the page shows Setup needed.

Choose a period

The report offers Last 30 Days, Last 3 Months, and Last 12 Months. The default is the last 30 days.

These are rolling calendar windows, independent of the project's last AI visibility check. The trend can include recent dates with no recorded traffic rather than stopping at the last visit. A zero-filled date is not a guarantee that Google has finished processing that day's data.

Read platform traffic

Each source row shows:

LabelWhat it measures
VisitsGA4 sessions attributed to that source. One person can have more than one session.
Engaged usersThe GA4 engaged-session count used by this report. Despite the interface label, do not interpret it as a deduplicated number of people.
Conversion actionsConversion events reported by the connected GA4 property. Their meaning depends on how that property is configured.

Sources can include AI assistants beyond the six platforms available for visibility monitoring. Traffic identification and the project's chosen AI-check platforms are separate systems.

Explore entry pages

Expand a source row to see Entry pages. These are landing pages associated with the recorded visits, with their visits, engagement, and conversion-action counts.

Use the page links to inspect the experience a visitor encounters first. For example, a source sending visits to a comparison page may call for a different improvement than one sending visits to your home page.

The AI traffic trend chart shows how recorded visits change over the selected period.

Understand attribution

Searcherries uses recognizable AI referral sources and available GA4 AI-assistant classifications. Missing referral information, tracking consent, redirects, or differences in property configuration can prevent a visit from being identified.

The AI Overviews traffic grouping is an estimate based on available attribution signals. Some visits may be attributed incorrectly or remain unidentified. Treat this grouping as an indication, not a complete or independently verified count of AI Overviews clicks.

Empty or delayed data

No AI traffic found yet means no matching visits were found in the selected data. It does not mean your brand has no AI mentions.

If a refresh fails, the page may show the last successful data with a notice. Use Try again where offered, check the selected GA4 property, and follow any connection instructions. Troubleshooting explains the next steps.
